The Thar Desert outside Jaisalmer is an ideal place for a camel safari in India, but the popular routes can get very busy. On this tour, escape the tourist trail and explore corners of the Thar Desert many visitors miss. Spin into the wilderness by off-road vehicle and admire uninterrupted desert views. Spot native wildlife among the rolling dunes, and camp out by the fire as the stars shimmer overhead.

These tours include visits to (ghost village) empty village and natural oasis, an important water source for local villagers, farmers and animals, and to the ruined khaba fort.the fort houses a small museum ( no entry fee) and is frequently inhabited by peacock: it also affords excellent views of the deserted village that lies beneath it. for early morning departures or late afternoon returns you will also have the opportunity to visit an inhabited desert village included in the cost of all our safaris: .English speaking guides. .one camel per person .full jeep support . Freshly-prepared vegetarian meals, (breakfast,lunch,snacks,and dinner,depending on your departing / returning time,) chai / coffee and plenty of bottled water. . bedding for overnight tours ( mattresses,sheets and blankets.) please note Beer is not included but can be purchased at the dunes. . we can provide you with a secure place to store your luggage and room to change and shower before and/or after your safari. . children under the age 7 are not charged, but they must share a camel with a responsible adult guardian. children aged 7 and over are charged full price and can ride their own camel at their guardian's discretion. we do not recommend overnight safaris for very young children (eg 3 and under) but are happy to recommend our half day. tour for safety reasons, children under the age of 4 will not be permitted to ride camels, even when accompanied by an adult, as both parties need to be capable of holding on the saddle horn / ropes for the duration of the ride. children under 4 must remain in the jeep and be accompanied by an adult guardian at all times. please note: there are no washing / bathroom facilities available at the dunes. please try to minimise the use of toilet paper: it spoils the dunes and is difficult and unpleasant for our staff to clean up. we recommend that you adopt the local method of washing with water. if you do use toilet paper, please do not bury it or leave it in the open: either bag-and-bin or burn it (we can provide matches.) wet wipes must be bagged and returned to town for disposal, you won't need any camping supplies for your safari, but the following items my prove useful . long-sleeved shirt and long trousers. . sunglasses,sunhat and scarf. . during winter, a warm jacket or shawl for the evening and early morning. . toiletries. . a torch (flashlight ) . please bring any medication you think you might need. .Disclaimer we can make no guarantees about the suitability of the weather.
